Why chatbots? Because in a world in which writing messages already is the number one activity consumers want the very same flexibility in communicating with brands with a personalised, real-time, 24x7 and user-centric flavour. A conversational marketing approach to capture customers’ needs before we start qualifying their interests in our brand to eventually connect them with us. Needless to say that such desire might easily clash with the difficulties in creating a truly conversational interface, moving away from a dry “conversational tree” pattern by embracing a more natural, “conversational graph”, technique. But these difficulties can already be overcome today through design, personality, humanisation and careful implementation of linguistic features to complement Natural Language Processing algorithms. Let’s see how we did it.
